 YOUTH SERVICE (FUTURE)

As you may or may not be aware Hampshire County Council are having to make 60% reductions in youth service staff. To facilitate the reduction in staff the delivery model of youth work will be changed. The work will be directed at targeted young people only, with youth workers case holding and facilitating targeted small group work.

The targeted groups have been defined as:

1.     at risk of homelessness or involvement in crime

2.     at risk of teenage pregnancy

3.     with poor mental health

4.     in care

5.     who are care leavers

6.     with special needs; and

7.      not in employment or education and training (NEET)

You can download Hampshire County Council's consultation paper. Please consider the impact of these changes and complete the consultation.

HYPE'S GOT TALENT

CAROLINA BLUE to open the HYPEs got Talent at the March HYPE Disco for young people in Fleet on March 25th.  Known as Indigo Blue, Lauren Byrne and Georgie Harrison will be opening the event and setting a great example of Talent from young people of the local area. Lauren and Georgie had an amazing time performing at the London O2 Arena in the Finals of the Open Mic in the under 18 category, after a series of regional competitions.

Both girls sing, play guitar and piano and write their own songs. They have sung and performed in many shows staged by the Fleet-based Starburst Theatre, with both starring as Cinderella in the pantomime last year, and at their Farnham-based stage school Showshack.
Both girls are studying for their GCSEs, Lauren at Court Moor School in Fleet and Georgie at St Nicholas’ School in Church Crookham
